Inauguration of the New Parliament Building

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament building to all 144 million Indians. The new Lok Sabha will have the capacity of 888 members seats.

PM Modi dedicated a brand-new legislative edifice outfitted with cutting-edge technology to the nation. The ceremony started with vedic rituals of all kinds, a morning havan, and prayers from all major religions. The ceremony begins with the National Anthem in the new Lok Sabha. The inauguration was presided over by Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and PM Modi.

‘Sarva-Dharma Prarthana’ and ‘Sengol’ placement at New Parliament Building

The ceremony started with a “Sarva Dharma Prarthana” (multi-faith prayer) event held ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, and among those in attendance were Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, as well as other Union Ministers and chief ministers of numerous states.

The sacred and traditional “Sengol” will be established in the Parliament House by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, he unveiled a plaque and gave the nation a new Parliament building.

PM Modi honoured the construction workers. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, S. Jaishankar, and JP Nadda, the head of the BJP at the national level, were all in attendance.

PM declared after the ceremony that the new building will give the nation’s citizens pride and optimism. He that the magnificent building will not only empower the people but also give new momentum and strength to the prosperity and strength of the nation.

Opposition parties boycotted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of the new parliament building because they thought President Droupadi Murmu should perform the honours. The prime minister unveiled a plaque to commemorate the ceremony.
