The exam results were earlier expected to be declared on June 14, but were declared on June 4 as the answer sheet checking was already completed.The shocking development in the history came into light after 67 students scored 720 marks, of which 6 were from a single exam centre in Faridabad, Haryana. Investigation underwayThe investigation into the paper leak has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has so far arrested 6 people including the main conspirator Aman Singh. On Friday, the central government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court opposing the re-conduct of the medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024, arguing that such a move would disrupt the academic calendar and was not necessary due to lack of evidence of malpractice.Supporting the Center, the National Examination Agency (NTA), which conducts NEET, also filed a separate petition in the Supreme Court on the same day. The NTA petition said that canceling the exam would not be right and would jeopardize the career prospects of meritorious students.
