Amid ongoing preparation for the scheduled G20 in the national capital from September 8-10, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, has decided to postpone the NEET SS 2023 exam. However, the revised schedule for the exam has not been disclosed so far. The new date will be shared on the official NBE website at natboard.edu.in. soon.

According to the information, the NEET SS exam was planned for September 9 and 10.

The board said on Thursday that it will soon announce a revised exam timetable. Candidates are chosen for programmes leading to DM, Mch, or Dr NB degrees via the NEET-SS. The students will appear in the exam are postgraduate doctors with MD or MS degrees who want to specialise in one of the fields, either medicine or surgery, such as gastroenterology, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, or surgical oncology. Examples of medical specialties include cardiology, critical care medicine, hepatology, or nephrology.

Sections of postgraduate doctors who would need to modify travel arrangements in order to visit NEET-SS test centres are incensed by the postponement. They claim that when the board released the exam dates on July 27, it should have taken into account the dates of the G20 summit.

In addition to this, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has forwarded a request for an extra examination centre to accommodate candidates from Srinagar as the state has not been considered as an examination city due to security concerns.
