As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will host a meeting on Tuesday for allied political parties in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha took a jibe at the 38 political parties who have confirmed their participation in the BJP-led alliance meeting.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha wrote, “38 Party NDA Brought to you by: ED”

While Chadha did not elaborate on the message, it seems to be a jibe at the tendency of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to target political leaders belonging to the opposition parties – the ED raided Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi’s house on Monday.

Chadha seems to insinuate that parties are affirming their affiliation to the NDA to avoid similar raids by the central agency – which the opposition claims is in control of the Union Government.

Earlier on Monday, BJP President JP Nadda said in a press conference that 38 parties had confirmed their attendance at the political alliance meeting to be held in Delhi.

Ahead of Opposition and NDA meet, PM Modi attacks ‘Dynastic Parties’

Ahead of the NDA meeting in Delhi and the ongoing meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties.

Calling them ‘dynastic parties’ and hardcore corrupts, Modi said that for the opposition, the motto seems to be ‘family first and nation nothing’.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came during a virtual address after the inauguration of the new integrated terminal building (NITB) of Port Blair airport in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The message was shared by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Twitter, saying, “Indians never lacked capabilities and capacities, but the corrupt Dynastic Parties always meted out injustice to them and made India bear the consequences.

“Democracy means ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’. But these Parivarvaadi [Familial] Parties have a mantra of ‘of the family, by the family, for the family’; for them, their family is first, and the nation is nothing!”
