Maharashtra: Pune bus rape case update, as previously reported, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped while sitting in a parked bus in Pune. The National Women’s Commission has sought an explanation from the state government regarding the gruesome incident and required a compliance report on the matter within the next 30 days. In more updates, NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has also reached out to the state DG on an NCW letterhead concerning the incident which happened on Tuesday morning.
In Maharashtra, Pratap Sarnaik has ordered an unscheduled meeting on Thursday with the senior personnel of MSRTC based in Mumbai to discuss the current protocol in place regarding female passengers' safety. In other updates, an official notice stated that some practical steps are anticipated in this regard from this meeting. Pune bus rape case updates: In a directive to the MSRTC on the Swargate-Bhosari routes, Pratap Sarnaik replaced all the twenty-three security personnel deployed at the branch.
Vivek Bhimanwar is to be told to get in touch with head office and carry out departmental inquiry with regards to the issue, and to give in detail report within a week.

The decree was issued on condition that the bus depot manager and the station in question, together with the supervisor, be relieved of their duties immediately pending an investigation into their possible willful misconduct. As per the news in Pune, Dattatraya Ramdas Gade aged 36 and a suspect in a rape case has already been arrested.
He allegedly raped a woman in a parked bus in Swargate bus stand and took her belongings. Gade has been previously arrested and is on bailed since 2019 for robbery and chain snatching, alongside multiple thefts. Gade had cases open against him in Pune and Ahilyanagar. On Wednesday, Poonam Kaderkar alleged that More Shiv Sada raped her with one of the loyal members of Sena UBT, so she protested in Korli bespectacled statue shouting 'Stop Raping Women' along with other activists, which later on led to chaos.
The Sena UBT members came into the building and set fire to the security offices windows and other properties within in the building. As women activists shouted slogans against the BJP, Chief Minister further ordered the use of force onto the pro free speech senators, tightly rolling them to be beaten with batons and cuffs.
