New Delhi: Passengers traveling on Namo Bharat trains can now enjoy the convenience of renting a power bank during their journey, with rental plans starting at ₹50, according to a statement from the NCRTC. The first of these services has been launched at the Sahibabad RRTS station, and there are plans to roll out similar facilities at other stations.Power bank rental service detailsThe power banks come equipped with three types of charging connectors—iPhone, micro USB, and C-port—making them compatible with a wide range of devices. Rental plans start as low as ₹50, with an annual subscription available for ₹1,199. Passengers can rent a power bank from designated machines and use it throughout their journey. Once done, they can return the power bank at any similar station across the NCR. This service aims to address the growing need for convenient mobile charging options while commuting.Future expansion and additional facilitiesThe NCRTC plans to expand this service to other RRTS stations soon. Additionally, preparations are underway to introduce electric vehicle charging facilities at various locations. The management of Namo Bharat train operations is handled by DB-RRTS Operations India, which ensures the comfort and convenience of passengers.To rent a power bank, users need to download the A3 Charge mobile app and complete a simple registration process. The app guides users to the nearest power bank machine and provides real-time information on the availability of power banks and slots. The service is currently available in the unpaid area of Sahibabad station, making it accessible to all without needing a train ticket. Passengers on Namo Bharat trains also benefit from mobile charging ports at every seat, and premium coaches offer additional laptop charging facilities.
