Nayab Saini elected Haryana Chief Minister: Nayab Singh Saini has been chosen to lead Haryana once again as its Chief Minister. In a crucial BJP legislative party meeting, Saini was unanimously elected as the party leader. He will take the oath of office on October 17, 2024, marking his return as Chief Minister for the third consecutive term.

During the meeting held at the BJP office in Panchkula, Saini's leadership was endorsed by several prominent party members, including Anil Vij and Manohar Lal Khattar. While Vij and Rao Inderjit Singh had shown interest in the position, the party eventually decided to continue with Saini’s leadership. Home Minister Amit Shah, who attended the meeting, played a central role in the decision-making process.

Oath-taking ceremony set for October 17

Saini's official swearing-in ceremony will take place on October 17, as confirmed by Shah during the election campaign in Panchkula. The ceremony will be a significant event for the BJP as it marks its third consecutive government formation in Haryana.

Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav acted as central observers for the meeting, overseeing the proceedings and ensuring party unity. While there were speculations that the BJP might surprise with an unexpected candidate, the decision to stick with Saini brings stability to the party’s leadership in Haryana.

BJP prepares for Jharkhand Assembly Elections

As preparations unfold in Haryana, the BJP is also focusing on the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. Following the announcement of the election dates, a meeting was held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, attended by key figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and National General Secretary BL Santosh.

The meeting discussed potential candidates for around 52 to 53 seats in Jharkhand, with the party expected to release its first list of candidates within two days. The final decision on some of the seats will be made by the national president after coordination with BJP allies.
