National interest is more important than politics: Maharaj Gyananand on India Manch (India Daily Live)

New Delhi: At the India Manch event organised by India Daily, renowned Gita expert Maharaj Gyananand shared profound insights on achieving mental peace and spiritual balance. He emphasised the importance of controlling one's desires as a pathway to inner tranquilly. "To attain mental peace, one must exercise restraint over desires. When you have control over your mind, your external behaviour will also be controlled," he stated.

Highlighting the teachings of the Gita and Sanatan Dharma, Maharaj Gyananand asserted that there is no room for narrow-mindedness in these philosophies. "Sanatan makes you broad-minded, while the Gita provides direction. No other scripture can explain global solutions better than the Gita," he explained.

Addressing stress through spirituality

Maharaj Gyananand also discussed the impact of stress on modern life. "Spirituality is the foundation that strengthens our internal capabilities. It is connected to inner consciousness. Stress erases happiness. If your desires are not satisfied, you will remain mentally disturbed. You should focus on your inner consciousness. By fulfilling your duties, you will find peace. Yoga will awaken you, bringing you inner happiness. External comforts and pleasures will not bring improvement," he elaborated.

Transformative power of Gita satsang

He further elaborated on the transformative power of Gita Satsang, particularly for the young. "Gita Satsang is for the betterment of the mind. It brings noticeable changes in the lives of young children, strengthening their mental peace. The Gita teaches us how to give our best in life. By understanding it, you can deal with any situation," Maharaj Gyananand noted. He shared a personal anecdote, saying, "My guru gave me the Gita, I understood it, and discovered the purpose of my life."

Diverse desires and the quest for peace

Addressing the diversity of human desires and lifestyles, Maharaj Gyananand observed that the Gita can transform mental stress into peace. "Everyone seeks mental peace, and yoga and the Gita provide a state of equilibrium. The Gita instills a sense of equanimity in people," he said.

On staying away from politics

Touching upon the subject of politics, Maharaj Gyananand made it clear that he has no intentions of entering the political arena. "We will not enter politics. Even if I am offered a seat unopposed, I will not take it," he declared.
