In a fiery address to the Lok Sabha on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi seized the opportunity presented by the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, transforming it into a strategic campaign speech ahead of the 2024 General Elections. Taking a jibe at opposition leaders, PM Modi said, "Alliance ka hi alignment bigad gaya (The alignment of the alliance has changed)."
Exuding confidence in NDA's thumping victory in the Lok Sabha election, the prime minister said, "The opposition failed to fulfill their responsibility as opposition...I have always said that the country needs a good opposition." Earlier on Monday, the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the President's address began on Friday and is likely to conclude on Monday.

Prime Minister Modi commended the opposition parties for their strong resolve to remain in opposition for an extended period. With a touch of sarcasm, he stated, "I appreciate the Opposition's resolve to remain in the opposition for a long time... The public will certainly give you its blessings..."
PM Modi highlighted the disruption in the INDI alliance, remarking that the alignment of the alliance had changed. He portrayed the Opposition's failure to fulfill its role and the subsequent disarray as a sign of the alliance's breakdown.
The Prime Minister attacked the Congress party, accusing it of consistently underestimating the nation's capabilities. He referenced statements from former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, suggesting a historical lack of trust in the Indian populace.
Taking a jab at the Congress party, PM Modi remarked, "In the pursuit of repeatedly launching the same product, the Congress party has now reached the point of facing a shut shop." He emphasized the need for innovation and adaptability in politics.
PM Modi emphasized India's economic progress under his leadership, stating that India had climbed from the 11th to the 5th largest economy. He confidently asserted, "It is Modi's guarantee that in our third term, India will be the third largest economic power."
Mocking the opposition, PM Modi suggested that some members had lost the courage to contest elections, with rumors of seat changes and a desire to shift from Lok Sabha to Rajya Sabha. He highlighted the evolving landscape of political aspirations.
PM Modi outlined the accomplishments of his government, including the construction of 4 crore houses for the poor and 80 lakh pucca houses for the urban poor. He contrasted this with the hypothetical pace of Congress, claiming it would have taken 100 years to achieve the same results.
Expressing admiration for the new Parliament building and the grandeur of the 75th Republic Day celebrations, PM Modi emphasized the significance of these moments in India's democratic history.
Reiterating his vision, PM Modi confidently predicted that in the government's third term, India would emerge as the third-largest economic power globally.
Reflecting on the President's address and the pride associated with the New Parliament and Sengol, PM Modi concluded with sentiments of honor and democracy's enduring significance.
