Several parts of Delhi reeled under a heatwave for the third straight day in a row. Narela, which was under the grip of a severe heatwave sizzled at 47.1 degree Celsius, seven notches above normal. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for a heatwave in the national capital, indicating that intense heat will persist in the coming days.

The IMD predicts the maximum temperature to soar up to 45 degrees Celsius today. While metro cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai experience relief from the heat with the onset of the monsoon in their respective states, Delhi will have to endure a few more months before similar relief arrives.
