Muzaffarnagar Police Bust WhatsApp Arms Trafficking Ring, 11 Arrested

In a major breakthrough, Muzaffarnagar police have dismantled a sophisticated arms trafficking network operating through WhatsApp, arresting 11 individuals involved in the illegal sale and booking of weapons.

The Khalapar police of Muzaffarnagar in UP has arrested 11 smugglers who were involved in interstate arms smuggling. The gang members book Madhya Pradesh-made Beretta pistols online by showing pictures of the pistols on Whatsapp to the customers. They used to change locations for the delivery of illegal pistols. The arrested criminals include 7 smugglers from Meerut, 1 from Saharanpur and 3 from Muzaffarnagar. The police have recovered 8 pistols, 3 country-made pistols, cartridges, 11 mobiles, 2 cars and a bike from the arrested smugglers.

While addressing a press conference at the police line, SP City Satyamarayan Prajapat said that on Friday, Khalapar police station in-charge Mahavir Singh Chouhan received information that an interstate arms supply gang was going to come under the Shamli flyover underpass to deliver pistols. The police reached the spot and surrounded the area and caught 11 smugglers. While searching the smugglers' car, the police recovered 8 pistols of Madhya Pradesh-made Beretta model, three pistols, 11 mobiles. The police also recovered a bike from them.

Illegal Arms Sale on WhatsApp Uncovered

The police arrested arms smugglers Robin, Rohit, residents of Shobhapur, police station Kankarkheda, Meerut, Abhay, Vishu, residents of Mohalla Mandi Chamaran, Sardhana, Vishal resident of Bhamori, police station Sardhana, Vivek, Pramod, residents of Gotka village Sarurpur, district Meerut, Karna resident of Redakala, police station Badgaon, district Saharanpur, Kabir resident of Mohalla Sethpuri, Bhaukarhedi, police station Bhopa, Jitendra resident of Mujahidpur, police station Ratanpuri and Ujaifa, resident of Mohalla Lal Mohammad, behind police station, police station Khatauli.

SP City said that said that all the criminals involved in the gang are best friends and they do different things to escape from the police. The leader of the gang is Vishal. Vishal sends the photo of the pistol on Whatsapp and makes online booking of customers through Kabir, Pramod and Ujaif. Robin, Rohit, Jitendra and Vivek buy Beretta made pistols from Madhya Pradesh.

Sales from 70 thousand to one lakh
SP City said that this gang sells illegal pistols for 70 thousand to one lakh rupees. This gang has supplied pistols to people of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. The call details of the mobile recovered from the arrested smugglers will be investigated.

During interrogation, it also came to light that pistols were sold to criminals of Shamli, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar. SP City said that the gang leader Vishal along with his associates had committed robbery in Bulandshahr, who was arrested by the police and sent to jail.
