New Delhi: An incident of raping an adolescent who was befriended by concealing their religious beliefs has surfaced. The accused had been raping a teenage girl for two years in the Teela Mod neighbourhood of Ghaziabad. The victim allegedly became pregnant after complaining about it, and the accused and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor standing up for him allegedly threatened her. The police have opened an investigation and filed a case against the accused, his mother, and the "AAP" councillor in response to the victim's mother's complaint.

Accused raped several times

The husband of the woman living on rent in a colony in Teela Mod area has died. The woman and her two daughters work as domestic help. The victim's mother told that Sonu, who lived with councilor Mustakim Chaudhary from Ward 66, often visited their house. It is alleged that Sonu met them by hiding his religion and two years ago befriended their 16-year-old younger daughter and then raped her. When they protested, he threatened to kill the whole family. Since then, the accused kept raping their daughter.

Case registered under the POCSO Act

ACP Shalimar Garden Siddharth Gautam said that on the complaint of the victim's mother, a case has been filed against Sonu Khan, his mother and councilor Mustakim Chaudhary for rape, threatening and under the POCSO Act. The teenager has been medically examined.

Protested when knew about his religion

According to the victim, when she came to know about Sonu's full name, she protested. Sonu threatened to kill her. The victim told her mother and during this time her health deteriorated. On getting examined in the hospital, it was found that she was two months pregnant. When a complaint was made to the accused and his mother in this regard, the accused's mother also threatened them and drove them away.

Allegation of using abusive language in front of policemen

The victim's mother lodged a complaint against the accused with the police. After this, both the parties were called to the police station. It is alleged that councilor Mustakim Chaudhary came to the police station on behalf of the accused and spoke ill of the victim in front of the police personnel. They threatened to take back the complaint and go home, nothing will happen in this case. It is alleged that the police personnel also did not stop the councilor and asked him to leave the police station without taking any action.

Victim's mother appealed to the Hindu organization

The victim's mother said that when the police also did not listen to her, two days ago she met the officials of a Hindu organization and pleaded for help. The organization made a video of the victim and complained on social media on Sunday. The organization accused the police of not taking action and not arresting the accused immediately under pressure from the councilor. The organization has said that it will raise the matter before higher officials.

Councilor called the allegations baseless

Aam Aadmi Party's Ward-66 Mausam Vihar councilor Mustakim Chaudhary called the allegations baseless. He said that both the parties are neighbors and know each other for years. The teenager's mother had come to him with a demand to get her married to Sonu. Since the girl was a minor and both belonged to different religions, he refused to help in getting them married. He himself asked the teenager's mother to complain to the police. If the report is filed, everything will become clear in the investigation.

DCP Trans Hindon Nimish Patil said, "The teenager's mother has accused the accused of friendship and rape by hiding religion. She had given the complaint on Saturday itself, on the basis of which a report has been filed against three people including Sonu and the councilor. The police team is searching for Sonu. He will be arrested and further action will be taken on the basis of investigation."
