New Delhi: Tensions flared at a Janta Durbar program in Begusarai on Saturday when a ward councillor clashed with Union Minister Giriraj Singh. The incident occurred at the Balia block of Begusarai, where Mohammed Saifi, a ward councillor from Lakhminiya panchayat, confronted the BJP MP, sparking a heated exchange that led to a scuffle.
During the program, Saifi raised concerns about his panchayat and questioned the Union minister. Dissatisfied with the responses, Saifi began to argue with Giriraj Singh, insisting, "You are our MP, and you have to listen to our problems." When Singh prepared to leave the venue, Saifi attempted to approach him but was stopped by security personnel.
Frustrated by being held back, Saifi began chanting “murdabad” slogans against the minister. The situation escalated when some of Giriraj Singh's supporters confronted the councillor. In a video circulating on social media, Saifi is seen being roughed up by several individuals before being taken into police custody.
