Mumbai police deploy over 12,000 personnel for Ganeshotsav 2024; Urges citizens to follow safety guidelines

New Delhi: Mumbai is all set to celebrate Ganeshotsav from September 7 to September 17, 2024, with vibrant decorations and various religious, cultural, and social programs being organized by public Ganeshotsav mandals. The festival is expected to draw large crowds, with devotees visiting these mandals in large numbers to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.

In preparation for the festival, the Mumbai Police has implemented extensive security arrangements to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event. The city will see a strong police presence to maintain law and order throughout the 11-day celebration.

Robust police deployment for Ganeshotsav

To safeguard the city during the festival, Mumbai Police has deployed a massive force, which includes 32 Deputy Commissioners, 45 Assistant Police Commissioners, 2,435 police officers, and 12,420 police personnel. This sizable force is aimed at ensuring that citizens can celebrate the festival in a safe and secure environment. Additionally, specialized units like the SRP (State Reserve Police), MSF Platoons, Quick Response Teams (QRT), Riot Control Squads, Delta, Combat, and Home Guard forces will be stationed at critical locations across the city.

The Mumbai Police has also made special arrangements for the immersion of Ganesha idols, a significant aspect of the festival. These measures are in place to ensure a seamless process and prevent any disruption during the final days of the celebration.
