Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been targeted with a death threat involving a bomb. Mumbai Police received anonymous calls and emails on Thursday morning threatening to blow up Shinde's car. The threats were directed to the Goregaon and JJ Marg police stations, as well as the control room at Mantralaya, the state government's headquarters. The unidentified individual threatened to detonate a bomb in Shinde's car.

Law Enforcement Launches Investigation

Police are working to identify the source of the threats amidst heightened vigilance. Following the threats, Mumbai Police have launched a probe to identify the sender of the menacing messages. A senior police officer confirmed that the matter is under investigation. Authorities are taking the threat seriously, and security around Shinde has been significantly heightened.

Security Intensified Amidst Delhi Visit

The threat comes as Shinde attends a key political event in the capital. The bomb threat occurred while Shinde was in Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of BJP's Rekha Gupta as Delhi's chief minister, along with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. Shinde is also scheduled to attend a meeting of NDA chief ministers at the Imperial Hotel.

Series of Threats Against Shinde

This is not the first time the Deputy CM has faced threats to his safety. Notably, this isn't the first time Shinde has faced such threats. Last month, an FIR was registered against a 26-year-old in Thane for allegedly threatening to harm him in a social media post. The accused used derogatory language and made threats against Shinde, leading to police action.
