Maharashtra News: In the early hours of Saturday, around 2 AM, the Mumbai Police's traffic control room received a chilling message indicating that bomb blasts were being planned in both Mumbai and Dhanbad. The message, originating from an Indian mobile number, prompted immediate action from the authorities, who launched an investigation to trace the sender. The alert detailed the names of specific suspects purportedly involved in the manufacturing of illegal weapons and planning explosive attacks. It clearly identified two individuals: one allegedly targeting Dhanbad and the other planning an assault in Mumbai. Following this alarming communication, police efforts focused on tracking the sender using the provided mobile number.
Initial investigations hinted that these claims might have been fabricated to falsely implicate the named individuals. However, the police are proceeding with a thorough investigation. In accordance with standard protocol, intelligence agencies have been alerted, and necessary contingency measures are being put in place.

Previous Hoaxes Raise Concerns About Public Safety

This incident is not isolated; it follows a previous case where a woman contacted the main control room claiming there were preparations underway to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, involving weapons. Subsequent investigations revealed that her mental health was unstable, raising concerns about the credibility of such threats. Authorities remain vigilant and are committed to thoroughly investigating this latest threat to ensure public safety.
Recent weeks have seen a surge in bomb threats across Mumbai, particularly at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. In just 45 days, there have been multiple hoax threats, with authorities confirming that these calls are often made using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), complicating efforts to trace their origins. The increasing frequency of these false alarms has placed significant pressure on law enforcement and security agencies, highlighting the challenges they face in maintaining public safety amidst a climate of fear and uncertainty.
As investigations continue into this latest threat, officials are emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens and passengers in Mumbai.
