Mumbai law enforcement has apprehended two suspects, including an alleged criminal mastermind running an MD drug factory in the Lalji Pada slum district, seizing over ₹1 crore worth of contraband in the process.

Young chemical scientist arrested

A 24-year-old chemical scientist, Noor Alam Mahboob Alam Chaudhary, was arrested on Thursday and accused of being the mastermind behind the illicit MD production racket.
Over 500 grams of the party drug estimated at ₹1.18 crore was confiscated from the illegal manufacturing hub.

Accomplice also detained

Chaudhary's presumed accomplice - 30-year-old Abrar Ibrahim Shaikh – was also arrested for possession of the stash of MD drugs found on location.
The specific roles of each accused are being further investigated by authorities.

Sophisticated lab shut down

According to officers familiar with synthetic drug networks, the operation indicated the work of someone with extensive chemical expertise running a high-grade laboratory - allegedly the young "mastermind" now in custody.
The drug haul reflects Mumbai Police's commitment to choking the supply of dangerous MD onto streets from makeshift factories.
