A disturbing trend has emerged in Mumbai, where real women are engaging in elaborate scams, preying on unsuspecting men daily. Despite numerous formal complaints lodged by victims, the authorities, including Mumbai Police, appear to be turning a blind eye. This has raised concerns about whether these cases are being adequately addressed or simply ignored. The modus operandi of these scams is alarmingly organized, pointing towards a larger, more sophisticated criminal operation.

A Systemic Issue Ignored?

Men who have fallen victim to these scams have tried to report the incidents, only to face challenges when it comes to taking action. The so-called "woman card" seems to deter victims from pursuing their cases, as they fear retaliation or being ignored. Online complaints have been filed, but questions remain about whether these reports are merely "hibernating" in the system, without any real investigation or follow-up. The lack of action by the authorities, particularly the Mumbai Police, has led to accusations of negligence or, worse, possible protection of these scammers.

Targeting Victims with Precision

These scams are taking place right under the noses of local authorities, particularly in areas like Bandra. Despite formal complaints lodged by victims, there has been little to no investigation into these incidents. This inaction is alarming, especially considering that the same scam stories are being reported by hundreds of men. The police's apparent inaction has only emboldened the scammers, allowing them to continue their operations with impunity. One particular club has been repeatedly exposed as a hotspot for these scams, yet it continues to operate, seemingly unchallenged.

Modus Operandi of the Scammers

The scammers follow a specific pattern to trap their victims. The process typically begins with a connection made on a dating app, followed by a push for a quick meet-up. The designated meeting spots are often Pizza Express, a nearby Metro station. Once at the location, the scammer insists on visiting The Godfather, a known establishment where she orders expensive items like drinks, hookah, and fire shots. The male victim is never shown a menu, and within an hour, the bill skyrockets to thousands of rupees. Before the victim realizes what's happening, the woman absconds, leaving him to face bouncers who threaten violence if the bill isn't paid.

Calls for Action

Despite multiple cyber complaints, calls to the police on the spot, and warnings to expose these women, the scam continues unabated. The lack of response from authorities has led to frustration and fear among victims, who feel powerless to stop these crimes. Even platforms like Zomato have come under scrutiny for continuing to list establishments involved in these scams, despite receiving numerous negative reviews.

This ongoing scam operation highlights the need for urgent action from law enforcement and other responsible parties. Without intervention, more men will continue to fall prey to these organized scams, leaving them not only financially drained but also emotionally scarred.
