The Mumbai Crime Branch has initiated the formal process to extradite Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, wanted in connection with a firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence and multiple other criminal cases across India, sources confirmed.

Extradition and international coordination

According to officials within the Mumbai Police, authorities in the United States have verified Anmol Bishnoi’s presence there to Indian law enforcement. The Mumbai Crime Branch recently informed the Mumbai Sessions Court about the ongoing extradition efforts, preparing to escalate the matter to the Central Government for further action. A Red Corner Notice (RCN) has also been issued to expedite Bishnoi’s location and arrest abroad, officials noted.

History of notorious crimes

Anmol Bishnoi has over 17 criminal cases pending in India. Besides his involvement in the Salman Khan firing incident, he faces charges alongside his brother Lawrence Bishnoi and associate Goldie Brar. Last week, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) escalated the hunt for Bishnoi, adding his name to their most-wanted list and announcing a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to his capture.

In addition to the Khan case, Anmol Bishnoi is also implicated in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, allegedly for supplying imported firearms used in the incident. Police reports suggest he provided a Turkey-made Tisas pistol and a Glock firearm used in the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique on October 12. Investigators found that Bishnoi had communicated with suspects involved in Siddique’s murder, reportedly using Snapchat to stay connected while operating from Canada and the United States.

Ongoing investigation

The murder of 66-year-old NCP leader Baba Siddique, shot by three men during Dussehra celebrations, led police to arrest 10 individuals, including two shooters and an arms supplier. The investigation points to Bishnoi’s direct link with the accused as authorities push forward with the extradition case.
