Mukhtar Ansari Death: Section 144 imposed across Uttar Pradesh

Keeping the security and law and order in mind Section 144 in Uttar Pradesh has been implemented.

Mukhtar Ansari, a convicted criminal who later became a politician, passed away on Thursday night at the Banda Medical College in Uttar Pradesh due to a heart attack. Ansari's condition worsened during the evening, so the Banda district jail staff took him to the hospital.

Following Ansari's death, a large police presence was seen outside his home. Keeping the security and law and order in mind Section 144 in Uttar Pradesh has been implemented. Security has been heightened in Mau and Ghazipur. Notably, Ansari was chosen five times to represent the Mau seat in the Legislative Assembly.

Prohibitory orders were put in place throughout Uttar Pradesh under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which forbids mass gatherings. The order has been issued by Director General of Police Prashant Kumar of Uttar Pradesh. 
Forces have been deployed in Banda as well.

Prayagraj Police is on high alert after the imposition of Section 144 across Uttar Pradesh following the death of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari.

Meanwhile, a 3-member team has been formed on the directions of Banda DM for the magistrate enquiry in the death of Mukhtar Ansari.
