MP News: A horrific incident occurred in Mauganj district, Madhya Pradesh, on November 24, 2024, when a minor girl was raped inside an ambulance while three other individuals were present but failed to intervene. The victim, on her way to visit her maternal uncle, was accompanied by a woman she knew. After the woman got off the ambulance during the journey, the accused allegedly took advantage of the situation, kidnapping the girl and taking her to a remote location where the assault occurred.

What really transpired 

According to reports, the girl and the woman traveling with her were familiar with the ambulance driver. As the woman exited, another person in the ambulance went to search for her but never returned. This left the victim alone with the perpetrators, who proceeded to take the girl hostage and transport her to a hilly village. The girl attempted to resist and scream for help, but the accused threatened her with death. Unable to escape, the minor was raped while the other individuals remained inside the vehicle.

The Victim’s Brave Account

After the assault, the perpetrators abandoned the girl in the village. She managed to find her way home and immediately reported the incident to her mother. A formal complaint was filed with the police on November 25, leading to the swift registration of a case under the POCSO Act, rape, and kidnapping charges. The police acted promptly, arresting two of the accused, identified as Rajesh Kewat and Virendra Chaturvedi. Authorities are still searching for the remaining suspects involved in the crime.

DIG Saket Prakash Pandey confirmed that police launched a rapid investigation following the victim's report. "We are dedicated to bringing all those involved to justice," said Pandey. The police have filed charges against the suspects under serious sections of the law, ensuring they will face the consequences of their actions.

The investigation is ongoing, with the police focusing on tracking down the remaining suspects. The local community has expressed outrage over the assault, demanding swift and severe action.
