Mosque cleric beaten to death in Rajasthan; No arrest so far

A tragic incident has been reported from Rajasthan’s Ajmer where a cleric of a mosque has been allegedly beaten to death by three men. According to the sources, the incident happened on Saturday when the victim, Mohammad Mahir, who hails from Uttar Pradesh was sleeping with six children in the mosque located in Ramganj’s Kanchan Nagar.

According to police officials, the accused allegedly entered the mosque and attacked 30-year-old cleric with sticks. When the boys started screaming, the accused threatened them too and tried to snatch his mobile phone, so they could not call anyone for help.

All three accused fled off the spot, soon after the incident. The children came out of the mosque and informed the neighbors about the incident. 

The reason of murder is not revealed yet and no arrest has been made so far. Meanwhile, the police have started the investigation in the case and trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage.

A case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
