New Delhi: In a major crackdown on illegal arms manufacturing, police uncovered a clandestine gun factory in the Chambal regions Morena district, following the surfacing of a video showing a woman cleaning firearms in bulk. The video, which quickly went viral, prompted law enforcement to launch an investigation, leading to the arrest of two men—the womans husband and father-in-law.Video leads to major police raidThe video, which depicted the woman meticulously scrubbing guns with a brush to enhance their shine, served as critical evidence for the police. After verifying the videos authenticity, authorities swiftly conducted a raid in Ganeshpura village, located in the Mahua police station area of Morena district. The raid was carried out at approximately 8 PM on Friday night. During the operation, the police apprehended Shakti Kapoor Sakhwar, the womans husband, and his father, Bihari Lal, as they attempted to escape with the firearms. Further inspection of the suspects residence revealed a cache of materials and tools used in the illegal production of firearms. The Mahua police promptly took the suspects into custody, registering a case under the Arms Act around 1 AM.This discovery sheds light on the illicit arms trade within the Chambal region, which has long been notorious for criminal activities. The bust marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb illegal arms manufacturing in the area.
