New Delhi: A distressing event has recently emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad where a mob violently attacked a Muslim boy in the Ramganga Vihar area. The assault was allegedly prompted by accusations that the boy had behaved inappropriately towards a woman. The situation escalated quickly, drawing significant public attention and concern.

The incident took a troubling turn when the boy’s father requested the review of CCTV footage to clarify the circumstances. Instead of a constructive response, the father was met with hostility from the crowd, adding to the chaos and confusion surrounding the case.

Police release statement on park incident

In the aftermath, the police released a statement addressing the situation. According to the notice issued by Moradabad Police, the incident occurred on August 26, 2024, within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. The statement detailed that the boy was allegedly caught engaging in inappropriate behavior in a local park while women were present. The police report indicated that the boy had a history of similar behavior, which led to the intervention by some local residents who detained him on the spot.

Police clarify incident

The Moradabad Police's notice attempted to clarify the situation, stating, “On August 26, 2024, in the Dindayal Nagar area, a boy was apprehended by some individuals for behaving indecently while women were picking flowers in a park. The local police, upon investigation, found that the boy had engaged in similar conduct previously. Consequently, preventive action was taken against two individuals to maintain peace and order. The police advised against spreading misinformation and warned that legal action would be taken against those disseminating false news.”
