A shocking incident from Bihar’s Siwan district has left a village in mourning. A 10th-grade student lost her life after being pushed off a rooftop by a group of monkeys. The tragic event unfolded in Maghar village, located in the Bhagwanpur police station area.
According to reports, the girl, Priya, was studying on her rooftop, enjoying the sunlight on a cold winter day. Suddenly, a group of monkeys appeared and surrounded her. Startled and frightened, Priya attempted to flee towards the stairs. However, as she tried to escape, one of the monkeys leaped and forcefully pushed her, causing her to fall from the rooftop.
Family members immediately rushed Priya to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival. Medical professionals revealed that she suffered severe injuries to her head and other parts of her body, which proved fatal.
Villagers disclosed that Priya was preparing for her upcoming matriculation exams. Her untimely demise has left the entire village shaken. Adding to the distress, her family refused to conduct a post-mortem or file a formal police complaint. However, the rising threat posed by monkeys in the area has become a significant concern.
Residents of Maghar village have expressed alarm over the increasing aggression displayed by monkeys in recent months. This incident is not an isolated one, as similar cases of monkey attacks have been reported in other parts of the country. In a previous incident in Bagalkot district, a monkey threw a cement object at a woman, resulting in her death.
The growing human-wildlife conflict has created fear among villagers, prompting them to keep their children indoors. Residents have urged authorities to address the monkey menace before it escalates further.
