Yati Narsinghanand Mohammad: In a video circulating on social media, controversial Hindu leader Mahamandaleshwar Yati Narsinghanand Giri has sparked outrage by making a highly provocative statement, urging people to burn an effigy of Prophet Mohammad during Dussehra. The Ghaziabad Police have swiftly registered an FIR against him following the incendiary comments, which have been widely condemned.

Yati Narsinghanand gives inflammatory remarks at public gathering

Yati Narsinghanand made the controversial statement during a public gathering, where he is seen addressing the crowd and discussing the symbolic burning of effigies during Dussehra. In the video, he expressed his views about historical figures, saying, "We burn Meghnad every year. A person of character like Meghnad was never born on this earth. We burn Kumbhakarna every year, a scientist-warrior like Kumbhakarna was never born on this earth, and after Kumbhakarna, such a person of character. And what was his fault?"

He then escalated his speech by comparing Ravana, who is traditionally burned in effigy for kidnapping Lord Rama's wife Sita, to more modern-day figures. "Ravana committed a small crime, and today, after millions of years, we still burn Ravana. Now, there are criminals in front of whom Ravana has no existence," he claimed.

Calls for burning effigies of Prophet Mohammad, video surfaces

Yati Narsinghanand took his rhetoric further by blaming Prophet Mohammad for ongoing global conflicts and atrocities. He urged Hindus to burn effigies of Prophet Mohammad instead of Ravana during Dussehra, stating, "If you want to burn something today, then I appeal to all Hindus—on every Dussehra, start burning the effigy of Mohammad. The one who raped millions of sisters and daughters, the Arab looter Mohammad, is responsible for the bloodshed happening across the world. If you want to burn, start with Mohammad."

History of controversial statements

This is not the first time Yati Narsinghanand has stirred controversy. Known for his provocative speeches, particularly against Muslims, he has been a polarizing figure in Indian politics. His most recent declaration also involved a threat to disrupt an upcoming India-Bangladesh cricket match in Delhi. Citing the alleged persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, Narsinhanand warned that he would not allow the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to hold the match in the capital.

"The BCCI can conduct matches anywhere else in the country, but we will not allow them to host the match in Delhi as long as atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh continue," he declared, further fanning tensions between the two nations.

Legal action and public response

In response to his controversial comments, the Ghaziabad Police have registered an FIR against Narsinhanand under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The incident has sparked widespread backlash, with many calling for strict action against the leader for his inflammatory statements. Authorities are investigating the matter, and further legal proceedings are expected.

Yati Narsinghanand's history of divisive rhetoric has once again put him at the center of controversy, as his latest remarks threaten to fuel communal tensions across the country.
