In the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, the Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Gujarat government and ex-Gujarat minister Purnesh Modi on Rahul Gandhi’s appeal against the HC verdict rejecting his plea to stay conviction.
Apart from this, the top court has fixed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s appeal against the HC verdict for hearing on August 4.
Notably, Supreme Court was scheduled to hear the plea filed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi challenging the Gujarat High Court order which declined to stay his conviction in the criminal defamation case in which he was sentenced to two years in jail by Surat court.
