Their MPs will vote in favour of the bill. Earlier, the suspense remained intact.

Before the Waqf Amendment Bill is presented in the Parliament, there is a stir among the political parties. JDU has issued a whip to all its MPs to be compulsorily present in the parliamentary proceedings till April 4. Meanwhile, protests against this bill have started in many places including Bihar's capital Patna. JDU leader and former MP Ahmed Ashfaq Karim is also raising his voice against this bill.

JDU's position and statement

JDU's working president Sanjay Jha clarified that his party does not want this bill to be implemented retrospectively. He said, our stand is clear that this bill should not be implemented with retrospective effect. On the other hand, Union Minister and former JDU national president Lalan Singh said that he would express his stand on the Waqf Bill in the House itself. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said, Nitish Kumar does not need to take a certificate from anyone.

BJP issued whip for MPs

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also given strict instructions to all Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the House on April 2. The party has issued a whip to ensure that no MP is absent during the discussion on this important bill. However, opposition to this bill continues in many areas, which has increased political tension. The debate on the Waqf Bill is heated both in Parliament and on the streets. This bill has emerged as a major issue in the country's politics and all eyes are now on the discussion to be held in Parliament.
