Some distressing visuals have surfaced from Maharashtras Kolhapur, where mobs on Sunday climbed on the top of a mosque and planted a saffron flag and started destroying it. Reportedly this happened when a rally against the illegal encroachment turned violent.According to the sources, the hotel belonged to Tayyib Ali Ahmed who was attacked, torched, and looted for an hour three times. Chhatrapatis supporters vandalised the shops, threw stones and attacked policemen on duty. Not only this, they also attacked the Muslim community in Gajapur village, which is a few kilometers away from Vishalgarh.The media reports also claim that mobs of 100-200 people also looted the money and jewelry from Muslim houses after vandalizing them in Gajapur village where the mosque is located. Apart from this, around 50-60 houses and shops of Muslims were attacked, torched and looted in Gajapur village of Maharashtra. The residents fled their homes towards the nearby jungle to save themselves. In the meantime, from July 15 to July 29, prohibitory orders have been issued under Sections 37(A) A to F and Section 37(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act 1951.
