A case of mob lynching has come to light from Nawada in Bihar. A young man was beaten to death by mob on the charges of theft. Another young man was seriously injured, the incident took place late Wednesday night in Bhagwanpur village of Mufassil police station area. Both victims of mob lynching were residents of Bhagwanpur village. Allegedly stolen gold and silver jewellery was also found with them. On the complaint of the deceased's mother, police registered an FIR and arrested 4 people.
The deceased has been identified as Mrityunjay Kumar (25), son of Binod Prasad, injured youth is said to be Pravesh Kumar (23). A complete set of gold, locket of Bajrangbali and 10 pairs of silver anklets, toe rings and other jewellery, besides two smartphones were recovered from them.
The police have informed the family of both of them about the incident, family of both of them reached the hospital. The police team led by Mufassil SHO Mrityunjay Kumar was camping in Nawada Sadar Hospital. Post-mortem of the dead body was done in presence of family. The mob beat up both youths very badly. Due to this, they were seriously injured. They were brought to Sadar Hospital for treatment, where Mrityunjay died during treatment.
