New Delhi: A young man in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, identified as Mohammed Farid, tragically lost his life on Tuesday night after being brutally attacked by a mob. The incident, which occurred in the Gandhi Park area, has sparked outrage and calls for justice.

Reports of suspected theft lead to brutal attack

According to local reports, a group of people apprehended Farid on suspicion of theft. The situation escalated quickly, with the mob resorting to violence. A disturbing video circulating online shows the victim surrounded by a group of individuals, some armed with sticks, as he is subjected to a relentless assault. Bystanders are also visible in the footage, some seemingly observing the attack unfold.

People demands justice as investigation begins

Following the attack, Farid was rushed to Malkhan Singh District Hospital. Sadly, medical intervention proved futile, and he was declared dead. The incident triggered a large gathering at the hospital, with members of the Muslim community and Samajwadi Party leaders demanding swift and strict action against the perpetrators.

Police take action, search for more suspects

Responding to the situation, SP City Mrigank Shekhar confirmed that authorities received reports of a man being beaten in the Mamubhanja area. The police swiftly intervened, sending the victim for medical treatment and securing the scene. Unfortunately, Farid succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attackers suspected Farid of attempting to steal from their property. The Gandhi Park police station has registered a case, and four individuals have been apprehended. Authorities are actively reviewing CCTV footage to identify additional suspects who remain at large. SP Shekhar assured that a thorough investigation is underway and further legal action will be pursued.
