Mithai: Neither staff nor employees, Bihar's forgotten railway station

There are no employees at the station. The ticket counter at home is filthy, and hundreds of people travel from the station every day without tickets. People are protesting in demand of tickets at the station.

New Delhi: The railway station near the headquarters of Madhepura district in Bihar was built at the time of independence, but today there are no basic amenities. For about 6 months tickets have not been available at the station. It is reported that after the tender for the station expired earlier, a new tender has not been issued yet, which is why no tickets were being issued for travel from this station.

Passengers are paying fines to TTE 

There are no employees at the station. The ticket counter at home is filthy, and hundreds of people travel from the station every day without tickets. People are protesting in demand of tickets at the station. The department has not taken any action yet. This is causing an estimated loss of revenue for the railway.

The railway station which was popular during the British era now the building of the railway station has become very old, no new building construction has been done at the station.

Due to the unavailability of tickets at the Mithai halt, passengers who are travelling from Mithai are fined by Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE). Along with this, the railway is also facing heavy revenue loss.

MLA has not taken any initiative for Mithai 

Despite being elected as a Member of Parliament twice from Madhepura, Dinesh Chandra Yadav has not discussed anything about the railway station. While MPs and MLAs from other areas raise their voices in the assembly for the development of their constituencies. MLA Prof. Chandra Shekhar has been elected as MLA for the third time in Madhepura. Despite this, all representatives have remained silent about this British-era railway station.
