In a startling case from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, a young girl has declared her love for her sister-in-law, leading to intense family disputes and a series of troubling incidents. The two women, who reportedly developed a close bond over the last six months, faced resistance from their families, culminating in the married woman allegedly consuming poison after a heated altercation.

Poisoning incident and critical condition

The married woman, whose relationship with the young girl had turned romantic, was rushed to Bangarmau Community Health Center in critical condition after allegedly ingesting poison. Her family admitted her for emergency treatment, while the young girl accused the woman’s relatives of orchestrating the act.

A controversial relationship

The young woman, residing in the Behata Mujawar area, formed a strong friendship with her sister-in-law, a married woman from the same village. Their bond evolved into a romantic relationship, prompting their decision to marry. However, both families vehemently opposed the union.

The young woman claimed that during an encounter with her partner, the married woman’s family assaulted her and forcibly made her consume poison. The married woman also reportedly faced violence from her family, intensifying the situation.

Previous elopement attempt

Days before the poisoning incident, the pair had eloped, sparking a frantic search by their families. Police located the two women and returned them to their respective homes. The married woman’s husband distanced himself from the situation, while the young girl accused her family of mistreatment.

Police investigation ongoing

Authorities have confirmed that the young woman is a minor and stated that the case is under investigation. While no formal complaint has been lodged by either family, police are monitoring the situation closely. The future of the relationship remains uncertain as both families remain at odds.
