UP News: A harrowing case from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has shocked the region, where a female student from Bhavnapur police station area was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in Delhi. According to the victim’s family, the crime was committed by fellow students who had blackmailed her with an obscene video they had made two years ago.
On October 9, 2024, the student was allegedly kidnapped from her village and taken to Delhi, where she was held hostage and gang-raped. The victim managed to escape and sought help from bystanders, eventually returning to her home in Meerut. The family then lodged a formal complaint with the police, accusing three individuals of involvement in the crime.
The family revealed that the ordeal began two years ago when the victim, then a Class 10 student at a local college, was secretly filmed in an obscene video by one of the accused. The video was used to blackmail her into silence, and she was sexually exploited under the threat of the video being made public. The kidnapping and gang-rape appear to be a continuation of this exploitation.
In a separate incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Ballia district’s Narhi police station area. The accused, a 21-year-old youth named Arvind Rawat, reportedly took the girl to a hotel after luring her from her school. The girl later informed her mother, and the police have arrested the suspect.
