Meet ZULMI, alleged handler of Baba Siddique's murder suspects

Zeeshan Akhtar handler in Baba Siddique murder: Zeeshan Akhtar, also known as "Zulmi," has emerged as a key figure in the ongoing investigation into the murder of politician Baba Siddique. Police records across multiple states reveal that Zeeshan, whose real name is Mohammad Yasin Akhtar, played a crucial role in orchestrating the attack. Despite being arrested by Punjab Police in 2022, his involvement in this high-profile crime has come to light.

Zeeshan's role in Siddique's murder

Zeeshan Akhtar is believed to have been the handler of the three shooters—Dharmaraj Kashyap, Gurmail Baljit Singh, and Shivkumar Gautam—who were involved in Siddique’s murder. Kashyap and Singh were arrested soon after they shot Baba Siddique outside his son’s office in Bandra. The murder was claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, linking it to Siddique's alleged proximity to actor Salman Khan, who has been on the gang's radar due to the 1998 blackbuck case.

The infamous 'Zulmi of crime world'

Zeeshan hails from Jalandhar, Punjab, and has built a notorious reputation, branding himself as the "Zulmi of Crime World." He leads a gang of around two dozen members and has been involved in numerous criminal activities. He is implicated in at least seven criminal cases, including a high-profile extortion case worth ₹30 lakh in Jalandhar.

What is the connection with the Bishnoi Gang?

Zeeshan was reportedly in close contact with Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Police records indicate that Zeeshan used a special communication app to stay in touch with Anmol and played a pivotal role in planning the attack on Siddique. He had even brought weapons from Punjab to Mumbai to carry out the murder.

Leads a major network of criminals

Zeeshan’s connections within the criminal world run deep. He had met Gurmail, one of the shooters, during his time in Patiala Jail and convinced him to join the Bishnoi gang. Gurmail is the only shooter with a prior criminal record. Additionally, Zeeshan had connections with other notorious criminals like Saurav Mahakal, who had links to the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Saurav had even stayed at Zeeshan's house multiple times.

While Zeeshan was not physically present in Mumbai during the murder, he coordinated the entire operation remotely, highlighting his deep involvement in organized crime.
