A seasoned politician with decades of experience, Kolambkar is one of the longest-serving MLAs in the state, representing the Wadala-Naigaon constituency.
Kolambkar began his political career with the Shiv Sena and was elected from the Naigaon constituency in 2004. However, in 2005, he parted ways with the Shiv Sena, following the footsteps of Narayan Rane, and joined the Indian National Congress. In 2019, Kolambkar made another significant move by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He lent his support to BJP's Lok Sabha candidate, Rahul Shewale, in the 2019 general elections and was later elected as a BJP MLA from Wadala. His political acumen earned him the position of Protem Speaker of the 14th Maharashtra Assembly.
Kolambkar is once again a prominent name on the BJP's candidate list for the upcoming Maharashtra elections from Wadala. His extensive political experience and ability to adapt to changing political landscapes have solidified his position as a key figure in Maharashtra politics. As he gears up for his ninth run, his career trajectory continues to draw attention. Kolambkar’s decades-long career, marked by party shifts and electoral success, underscores his enduring influence in Maharashtra's political scene.
