The BJP had nominated sitting MP Ranjan Bhatt for the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, but Joshi was blissfully oblivious to what would happen when Bhatt abruptly withdrew from the campaign. On Holi, Mr. Joshi and his spouse were enjoying a musical performance when he received a barrage of congratulations calls. At that point, Mr. Joshi discovered he had been selected by the BJP to run for the Vadodara seat. In Gujarat, where 26 MPs are being elected, Mr. Joshi is the youngest candidate for the BJP at 33.

Strongarming Joshi!

Mr. Joshi stated that he had big shoes to fill because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was elected in 2014 from Vadodara, a former princely state that was known for its strong industrial development and cultural legacy, and then gave it up to Varanasi. The youthful BJP leader stated in an interview with news agency PTI that he is aiming to win by a margin of more than 10 lakh votes, a goal set by their state chairman, C R Paatil. On May 7, all state seats will be up for election in the third phase.

According to Mr. Joshi, who was included in a list of India's 40 young leaders under 40 compiled by the media outlet Fox Story India, Paatil has maintained the victory margin in Vadodara at 10 lakh votes, while the aim for the margin in other seats is 5 lakh. 2014 saw Mr. Bhatt win the Vadodara bypoll following PM Modi's resignation. After winning this seat in 2019 and preparing for a third term, she had her ambitions crushed by an internal uprising within the local BJP unit. She declared last month that she would not be challenging the elections. Mr. Joshi, a former student leader, was chosen for the position a day later.

Hemang Joshi: Who Is He?

Hemang Joshi, who is a member of the RSS's student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, was once the general secretary of the Maharaja Sayajirao University students' union. Hemang Joshi is currently the deputy chairman of the municipal primary school board. He claimed to be seeking a PhD in leadership and to have finished an IIM Ahmedabad course on leadership in education. His spouse is employed at a medical institution as an assistant professor.

Hemang Joshi acknowledged that, given Prime Minister Narendra Modi's victory in 2014 from Vadodara, he has large shoes to fill. Before leaving Vadodara to run from Varanasi, PM Modi served as its representative. The 33-year-old BJP leader discussed his goal of winning by a margin of more than 10 lakh votes, a goal established by their state chairman, C R Paatil. On May 7, all Gujarati seats will cast ballots in the third phase of the election.

Here's what he has to say

"I had not even dreamed of getting the ticket," he declared. To my great astonishment, it was unexpected. According to Joshi, Paatil has set the goal for the victory margin in Vadodara at 10 lakh votes, whilst the target for other seats is 5 lakh votes. Additionally, he declared that Fox Story India, a media platform, has prepared a list of 40 young leaders under 40 in India, of which he was one. 2014's Vadodara bypoll was won by Ranjanben Bhatt following Prime Minister Modi's resignation. According to the article, she had won again in 2019 and was almost ready for a third term when an internal uprising inside the local BJP unit crushed her dreams.

BJP and Vaddodara

Since 1998, the BJP has always won the Lok Sabha elections in Vadodara. Since 1991, this constituency has chosen three female MPs. Joshi is running against Jaspalsinh Padhiyar, a former Padra MLA for the Congress. In 2014, following Prime Minister Modi's resignation, Ranjanben Bhatt became victorious in the Vadodara bypoll. She won again in 2019 and was getting ready to run for a third term when she was overthrown by an internal BJP unit uprising, according to the article.

In the Lok Sabha elections held in Vadodara, the BJP has consistently prevailed since 1998. Since 1991, three female MPs have been elected from this constituency. Joshi is running against former Padra MLA Jaspalsinh Padhiyar of the Congress.
