The horrific crime came to light after the girl fled her home with her lover, who also sexually assaulted her. Their father reported them missing to the police, prompting an investigation. The police eventually located the siblings in Ghaziabad and detained a young man accused of taking them away. During the interrogation, the young girl revealed the traumatic abuse she had endured at the hands of both her father and lover.The girl explained that her father had repeatedly raped her while threatening to murder her younger brother if she spoke out. In an attempt to escape her situation, the girl confided in her lover, a relative from Baghpat, who then took both her and her brother away. However, instead of helping her, the lover also raped her.Police action followsFollowing the revelations, the police took swift action, arresting both the girls father and her lover. They have been charged with rape under the Indian Penal Code and are now in police custody.
