A major accident has averted in Meerut after a 35-foot-high Kanwar collided with a high-tension power line. The incident occurred during a religious procession, leading to a dangerous situation as the electrified line came into contact with the huge Kanwar.

According to the reports, tragically, seven Kanwariyas from Delhi were severely burned in the accident. The incident happened at Bagpat road when the kanwariyas were going towards Delhi after collecting holy water from Haridwar. Immediate response from emergency services helped prevent further casualties, and the affected individuals were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, as per the official statement, the condition of all the Kanwariyas is out of danger. They have suffered minor burn injuries. It was fortunate that the Kanwar was made of wood, otherwise a serious accident could have happened.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and have urged participants in religious processions to make sure that they take extreme caution near electrical sources.

Transgender beaten by Kanwariyas

Meanwhile, another incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad where a group of kanwariya beat a transgender accused of stealing goods from Kanwar Camp. However, after the intervention of the police, the information turned out to be false.
