In response to rumors that Indian nationals were enlisting in the Russian Army for support positions, the foreign ministry had advised people to proceed with care.A few Indian nationals have reportedly enlisted in the Russian army to work as support workers. To ensure their prompt release, the Indian Embassy has consistently brought up this issue with the relevant Russian authorities, MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated in a statement on February 23.He also urged all Indian nationals to exercise due caution and stay away from Russia-Ukraine conflict.The statement from MEA has come after a 23-year-old Hemil Ashvinbhai Mangukiya from Gujarat, was killed in a Ukrainian air strike in the Donetsk region on February 21, as per reports. He was hired as security helper by Russian Army.However, an official statement on Mangukiyas death from Indian officials are yet to come.Notably, the development has come amidst recent reports that a group of Indian youths fell victim to agents who falsely send them to Russia under the false pretext of providing them with security guard jobs. Instead, they all were dispatched to war-torn Ukraine-Russia areas, as per sources.
