Crime News: In a disturbing incident in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a Maulvi allegedly attempted to assault a young girl on August 15, 2024. The Maulvi, identified as Shadab, reportedly entered the girl's house with the intent to molest her while her mother was away gathering fodder for their animals.

According to reports, the girl, who was alone at home, screamed as the Maulvi began his attack. Her distress call was heard by her brother, who lives nearby. He rushed to the scene and confronted the Maulvi, who then attempted to flee. The brother managed to apprehend Shadab and handed him over to the local police.

Maulvi arrested

Villagers revealed that Shadab had previously worked at the village mosque but had been recently dismissed. The incident took place in the Muradnagar police station area. ACP Saloni Agarwal confirmed that Shadab, a resident of the same village as the victim, has been arrested following the complaint filed by the victim's family. The police have initiated an investigation into the case.

Details from victim's family

The victim’s mother stated that she was away from home when the attack occurred. Her 14-year-old daughter was left alone, and the Maulvi seized the opportunity to enter their home. The girl’s loud cries alerted her brother, who acted swiftly to prevent further harm. Upon arrival, the police took Shadab into custody, and a formal case has been lodged against him.
