A 22-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband in Vasant Kunj, southwest Delhi, on Wednesday, according to police reports. The deceased, identified as Pooja, resided in Rajokri. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Rohit Meena stated that the Vasant Kunj South police station received a PCR call at 12:38 pm regarding a murder, prompting a team to rush to the scene.

Initial Findings and Motive

The preliminary investigation suggests that a matrimonial dispute was the motive behind the murder. The initial examination of the body indicated that strangulation was the cause of death. DCP Meena confirmed that Pooja and her husband, Abhishek, had married for the second time on April 22, just two months prior. Abhishek had no children from his first marriage, while Pooja had a son from hers.

The Forensic Science Laboratory team, along with the crime team, inspected the scene to gather evidence. A case has been registered under the relevant sections, and multiple police teams are actively searching for the accused husband. The investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the incident.

DCP Meena emphasised the seriousness of the case and the efforts being made to apprehend the suspect.
