Crime News: A tense situation unfolded on Sunday at the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura, adjacent to the birthplace of Lord Krishna. A young man, angered by a traffic challan issued against his car, drove his vehicle into the mosque premises, causing alarm among the security personnel stationed there. Despite repeated requests from the guards, the man refused to exit his car for nearly half an hour, prompting the police to break the vehicle's glass to remove him.
Before entering the mosque, the accused reportedly made threats to blow up the Shahi Idgah Mosque, drawing a disturbing parallel to the Babri Masjid demolition. His aggressive actions and refusal to cooperate with authorities heightened the tension, leading to a rapid response from the police force. A barrier was erected to prevent the car from advancing further into the mosque, and the police eventually managed to apprehend the suspect.
Upon investigation, the police identified the accused as Pushpendra, a resident of Meera Vihar Colony in the Jamuna Par police station area. It was discovered that the man's outrage stemmed from a traffic fine issued earlier that day. Enraged by the challan, Pushpendra drove his car to the mosque and attempted to carry out his threats. After breaking the car's glass, the police searched the vehicle but found nothing suspicious.
Given the long-standing dispute surrounding the Shahi Idgah Mosque and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the situation was particularly sensitive. A significant police presence has been maintained in the area to prevent any potential escalation and ensure law and order. The accused has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Govind Nagar police station for further questioning.
