Massive fire immerse Tirumala Express at Visakhapatnam railway station; Video surfaces

Vishakhapatnam CP Shanka Brata Bagchi stated that local fire services authorities responded promptly to the incident. An FIR has been registered and forensic experts have been called to investigate the cause of the fire, which is yet to be determined.

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out at Visakhapatnam railway station on Saturday morning, immersing a train traveling from Korba to Tirumala. Flames primarily affect the four bogies M1, B7 and B6 AC compartments of the Tirumala Express. It led to cause widespread panic and disruption. The incident occurred at 7:30 am when the train was stationary at the platform. 

According to an IANS report, fortunately, despite the intensity of the fire, there have been no reported casualties so far, thanks to the swift response of railway firefighters who are currently working tirelessly to extinguish the flames and bring the situation under control.

Video surfaces on social media 

Images and footage of the incident have surfaced online, showing dramatic scenes from the platform where the compartments are engulfed in flames with thick smoke billowing out of the windows. Meanwhile, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials and nearby passengers are actively involved in firefighting efforts, trying to contain the spread of the fire.

Police launch investigation into train fire incident

Vishakhapatnam CP Shanka Brata Bagchi stated that local fire services authorities responded promptly to the incident. An FIR has been registered and forensic experts have been called to investigate the cause of the fire, which is yet to be determined. The experts will analyze the evidence collected from the scene to ascertain whether the fire was caused by a short circuit or any other reason and only then will they be able to provide a conclusive opinion on the accident.
