Massive fire breaks out at hotel near Patna Junction; 6 dead, over 20 rescued

At least six people were killed and several others were injured on Thursday after a massive fire broke out in a Patna hotel. More than 20 people were brought to safety as rescue operations continued. 

Police action in this matter

Fire Department DIG Mrityunjay Kumar is also present at the spot. He said that the fire has almost been brought under control. The rooms inside the hotel are being searched to see if anyone is trapped there. He told that about 25 people have been rescued from the hotel. He got information about the fire in Pal Hotel at around 11 o'clock. The firemen controlled the fire with great courage.

6 people burnt to death

Some official statements have also emerged regarding the number of dead and injured. Patna City SP Central said that 5 people were burnt to death in this accident. At the same time, 18 people have been taken to PMCH in burnt and injured condition. Of these, 12 people have been immediately admitted to the ICU. The condition of three of these remains very critical.

51 fire brigade vehicles extinguished the fire

Many people were present in the hotel when the fire incident occurred. DG Fire Shobha Ahotkar said that within a few minutes of receiving the information, several vehicles reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. The fire could be controlled after two hours of hard work with the help of 51 fire brigade vehicles. About 45 people have been evacuated from the hotel and surrounding buildings. The fire incident has created an atmosphere of chaos in the entire area. However, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
