Reason for the strike

According to the reports, President of Delhi Auto Taxi Transport Congress Union Kishan Verma stated "For several years, we have been writing to governments and departments about companies like Ola and Uber, but no one listens. Employment for auto and taxi drivers, which is being affected or taken away, must be addressed."

He further added to his quote that these cab service apps charge 45 per cent of commission on the drivers which has resulted in a shift in their daily earnings. Kishan expected a ban on these companies and an app should be launched by the government.
