Manipur women horrific video: House of main accused set on fire

The house of the main accused who paraded the women naked in the viral video was set on fire by the miscreants on Thursday.

Notably, the incident happened in Kangpokpi district, a day after the ethnic violence erupted in the northeastern state of Manipur on May 3. It is to be noted here, that the viral video got surfaced on Wednesday after the ban on the internet got lifted in the state. A nationwide outrage sparked soon after the video got viral on the internet.

Now, in the latest development, four people – including the prime accused, Huirem Herodas Meitei have been arrested by the Manipur police. Meitei’s house was set on fire yesterday by the women of Petchi village.

Meanwhile, the chief minister of the state, N Biren Shah has assured that strict action will be taken and no one will be spared in the case.
