In a disturbing incident reported from Rajasthan, police revealed that a man used a sharp weapon to kill his father and then buried the body in the courtyard of their home, marking a tragic turn of events on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Chunni Lal, reportedly engaged in a heated argument with his 60-year-old father, Rajeng Baranda, on Wednesday. During the altercation, Chunni Lal viciously attacked his father's head with the weapon, resulting in Baranda's immediate death. Following this brutal act, Chunni Lal proceeded to bury the body within the premises of their residence located in Dungarpur district.

Rajeng Baranda, the victim, had four sons – Prakash, Dinesh, Pappu, and Chunni Lal. Police investigations revealed that while Prakash and his mother resided in Ahmedabad, the other siblings, including Baranda, lived in Balwara village within Dungarpur, with Chunni Lal occupying a separate house with his father.

The truth came to light when Dinesh and Pappu, unable to locate their father for two consecutive days, reached out to their brother Prakash seeking answers. Upon their collective arrival in the village, the family confronted Chunni Lal about Baranda's disappearance. Initially, Chunni Lal attempted to deceive them with fabricated explanations, but his evasive responses raised suspicions, prompting the family to report the matter to the police on Friday.

Upon police interrogation, Chunni Lal confessed to the heinous crime of murdering his father. Subsequently, the authorities exhumed the victim's body from the courtyard and transferred it to the district hospital's mortuary.

The police have initiated legal action, registering a case under IPC section 302 (murder) against Chunni Lal, who has been taken into custody as per official statements.

This incident adds to a string of tragic events in Rajasthan, as earlier this month, another case emerged from Hanumangarh district where a man named Govind Singh allegedly murdered his 31-year-old daughter, Krishna. Singh, a 55-year-old farmer, reportedly resorted to extreme measures after Krishna repeatedly refused marriage proposals, highlighting the distressing trend of domestic conflicts leading to fatal outcomes.
