In a horrific incident, a taxi driver slapped girlfriends friend at a dhaba in Mohali. When the man objected, the driver attacked him on the head with an iron rod. The deceased has been identified as Jatinder Singh of Balongi. Jatinders adopted sister was also injured in this incident. She is admitted to Kharar Civil Hospital.The accused has been identified as Jatinderpal Singh, who is a resident of Rail Vihar Society, Zirakpur. After his horrific act, Balongi police arrested the accused. A case has been registered against him under section 302 of IPC at Balongi police station. The court has sent him on two-day police remand. After investigation, police found out that Jatinderpal Singhs female friend is also from Malerkotla. How did it happenJatinderpal is a taxi driver, who lives with her friend in a PG in the Kharar area. At around 12 oclock in the night of June 3, Jatinderpals girlfriend called him and invited him to the PG. When he reached there, all three drank alcohol. After that, all three of them reached a Dhaba ahead of Nijjar Chowk in a car to eat ice cream. Jatinder Singh, a resident of Balongi, was also eating there with his adopted sister.Icecream: The root causeJatinderpals girlfriend asked him to eat ice cream. He gave ice cream to both the girls. On this, the female friends friend said that she does not like ice cream. Jatinderpal got her another ice cream but she refused that too. On this matter, Jatinderpal slapped her on the face. When Jatinder Singh interrupted Jatinderpal, the accused lost his temper.Horring ordealAfter this, Jatinder Singh tried to leave the spot on his motorcycle with his sister. Jatinderpal first tried to hit his motorcycle, but when both the siblings escaped, the accused chased them again and hit their bike from behind on the Balongi flyover. Both the siblings fell on the road. After this, Jatinderpal Singh got out of the car and attacked Jatinder Singhs head with a rod, due to which he died on the spot. When his sister started shouting, the accused fled from the spot with his taxi. Locals took them to Civil Hospital Phase-6 where doctors declared Jatinder Singh dead while his sister was referred to Kharar Hospital.
