A harrowing incident has come to light in the village of Udmkela, Sarguja district, Chhattisgarh, where the semi-naked body of a woman was found, sending shockwaves through the community. The discovery has led to widespread panic, as it is suspected that the woman was brutally assaulted after an attempted rape.Local authorities suspect that, after failing to rape the woman, the assailant savagely attacked her. The attacker also mutilated her private parts before crushing her head with a stone, attempting to dispose of her body thereafter. Upon receiving the distressing information, Sitapur Police Station In-Charge Bharat Lal Sahu, along with forensic expert Kuldeep Kujur, promptly formed a team and arrived at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused tried to force himself on the woman and, when unsuccessful, resorted to extreme violence. It is believed that the accused raped the woman post-mortem and then inserted a stick into her private parts.Confession and InvestigationDuring interrogation, the accused, Raghu Manjhi from Ama Para, confessed to the crime. According to the police, the womans husband was away for work and did not return home that night. In his absence, both the accused and the woman consumed alcohol together. The woman fell asleep and did not return home. Later, when she went outside to use the bathroom, the accused seized the opportunity to express his intent for physical relations, which she refused.Brutal Attack and AftermathIn a fit of rage, Raghu Manjhi attempted to rape the woman. When she resisted, he attacked her face and head with a stone, resulting in her death. The police suspect that he raped her after killing her and then attempted to conceal the body in a pit in a nearby field.
